An agreement has been signed between the education sector and the New Zealand immigration office, to ease visa processes for overseas students interested in studying in NZ through endorsed agents.

A new system will streamline the visa application process for international students seeking to study in New Zealand, to enhance higher education.
According to the Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment Minister Steven Joyce, Immigration New Zealand and Education New Zealand have entered into a pact to ensure international students utilizing a New Zealand Specialist Agent (NZSA) can process their visa requests in just ten working days.
Joyce stated that the international education sector contributes approximately 2 billion NZ dollars (1.57 billion U.S. dollars) to New Zealand’s economy and links them with other countries. He further added that they aim to increase both the economic and social advantages of this industry in the next 15 years by two fold.
According to a statement by Immigration Minister Nathan Guy, the entry of roughly 100,000 international students who come to New Zealand annually is made possible through the significant contribution of Immigration New Zealand.
